The Eastern Police District headed by PBGEN WILSON C ASUETA successfully concluded the 1st EPD Inter-District Civil Disturbance Management (CDM) Competition 2024 held at the Meralco Soccer Field, Ortigas Ave., Pasig City on April 24, 2024.

The event demonstrated the EPD’s police force’s exceptional skills and preparedness to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration of Labor Day on May 1, 2024 and during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of His Excellency Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos, Jr., on July 2024.

The competition was participated by EPD personnel from District Headquarters and PaMaMariSan CPS.

Congratulating and commending the participants, PBGEN ASUETA, District Director emphasized the importance of having skills and knowledge in the conduct of Civil Distrurbance Management by upholding the rule of law and at the same time respecting individual’s human rights. He stated: “EPD must always be alert and ready to ensure the peacefullness of any event inside and outside Metro East area. Every police officer must know how to engage properly and lawfully those who wish to express their views and opinions as well as their grievances”.

The members of the EPD Command Group along with Force Commander, DMFB and representative from Regional Human Rights Affairs Office served as the Board of Judges and gave their critiques as well.

The competition comprised two stages: graded inspection and eight basic CDM formation display.

EPD District Headquarters emerged as Champion, while San Juan CPS got the 1st Runner-Up and Marikina CPS brought home the 2nd Runner-Up.

The CDM exercises played a crucial role in assessing the readiness and effectiveness of all EPD CDM units in handling civil disturbances and responding swiftly to emergencies involving various threat groups.

As the EPD remains committed to upholding peace and protecting individual rights, events like the EPD CDM Competition plays a vital role in ensuring Excellence, Professionalism and Discipline among its ranks.
