The Eastern Police District under the strong leadership of PBGEN WILSON C ASUETA, District Director through the EPD PaMaMariSan CPS conducted Simultaneous Clean-Up Drive Activity within EPD AOR in the morning of January 6, 2023 in support to the DILG’s “KALINISAN sa Bagong Pilipinas Program” in line with the Memorandum Circular No. 2024-001 wherein DILG Chief enjoined all barangays to mount clean-up activities in their areas, focusing on streets, canals, other waterways, public markets, schools, and public parks which also coincides with the celebration of the annual Community Development Day every January 6 per Proclamation No. 341, s. 1964, signed by former President Diosdado Macapagal.

The said activity was facilitated and supervised by the District Community Affairs and Development Division headed by PCOL REYNAN V PATAM, Chief, DCADD along with the Station Community Affairs and Development Division of PaMaMariSan CPS with the assistance of EPD Advocacy Support Group and Force Multipliers which further aims
to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all by capacitating local government units and enabling community participation to sustain cleanliness, beautification, and sanitation in the city and is determined to work in partnership with the community towards achievement of this eco-friendly pursuit.

The activities also includes coastal clean-up; dredging of clogged canals, esteros, and other waterways; pruning thick bushes or tree branches; draining receptacles containing stagnant waters; and dismantling all possible breeding places of mosquitoes.
