The Eastern Police District under the leadership of PCOL VILLAMOR Q TULIAO, Acting District Director, has intensified all the security measures leading to the National and Local Elections in May 2025.

As part of the preparations, the District Tactical Operation Center (DTOC), EPD has officially activated the District Election Monitoring and Action Center to ensure a safe and orderly electoral process within Metro East.

The DEMAC will serve as the Central Command post for monitoring and consolidating election-related information and provides real-time support to personnel deployed in the field.

This activation was spearheaded by the ADD, EPD along with the Command Group and District Staff who also conducted inspections of the facilities and equipment at the monitoring center in the presence of Mr. Kurt Cruz, PPCRV Representative, and Mr. Edgar L. San Buenaventura, Election Assistant.

Likewise, activation of Station Election Monitoring and Action Center (SEMAC) was also held in the four City Police Stations of EPD.

All Election Monitoring and Action Centers of all EPD Units and Stations will serve as the “eyes and ears” of the PNP National Task Force for Safe And Fair Elections (SAFE) 2025, providing the updated reports of all incidents related to elections and the security activities undertaken by EPD. Also, before and during the election period, the EPD will disclose the deployment of Police personnel, standby forces, and quick reaction teams stationed on a 24-hour basis at the command posts at their respective headquarters.

“The EPD is committed to uphold the integrity and credibility of the electoral process. We are also adhering to our mandate to serve and protect at all costs. The activation of the election monitoring and action center is part of our dedication to ensuring safe, peaceful and orderly election,” emphasized PCOL TULIAO.

EPD is continuously coordinating with the COMELEC and other concerned agencies on the proper implementation of COMELEC Rules and Regulations and in adherence to the Omnibus Election Code of the Philippines.

“Law enforcement operations of EPD will be strictly implemented, particularly through round-the-clock checkpoints for the gun ban and other anti-criminality efforts to thwart nefarious activities of criminals before and during election period,” added the ADD, EPD.###
