
The Eastern Police District Came Into Existence On August 4, 1973 When Senator Juan Ponce Enrile, Then The Secretary Of National Defence And Acting Chairman Of The National Police Commission, Approved The Rules And Regulations Governing The Metropolitan Police Force, And Directed The Chief, Philippine Constabulary/Director General Inp For The Implementation.
Forming Part Of The Metropolitan Police Force Which Was Created Under Pd 421 Issued On March 21, 1973 By Former President Ferdinand e Marcos, The District Had Under Its Operational Jurisdiction Over The Municipalities Of Marikina, Pasig, Pateros And Muntinlupa.
After The Edsa Revolution In 1986, Muntinlupa, Pateros And Taguig Were Absorbed By The Southern Police District While The Municipalities Of Mandaluyong And San Juan Which Were Formerly Under The Jurisdiction Of The Northern Police District Were Absorbed By The Eastern Police District With The Re-Sectoring Of The Areas, Epd Has Taken Jurisdiction Over The Areas Of Marikina, Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan.
On The Changes In Leadership, Then Colonel Andres b Ramos, Who Was The Philippine Constabulary Provincial Commander Of Rizal Was Designated As The First Superintendent Of The Eastern Police District In Concurrent Capacity. He Caused The Immediate Construction Of The First District Headquarters Opposite Rizal Pc Command Building At Hilltop k Tikling, Taytay Rizal.
On April 19, 1977 Lt Colonel Armand Agbayani Took Over As Superintendent Of The Epd. On August 10, 1977, Brig Gen Nicolas v Sta Ana Was Instrumental In The Construction Of The Former District Headquarters On Annex With 1, 032 Sq m Lot Along Meralco Avenue Ext4ension Donated By The Ortigas And Company.
On August 10, 1982, Brig Gen Nicolas v Sta Ana Was Replaced By Brig Gen Alfredo h Yson Who Was Then The Deputy Superintendent Of The Western Police District And After Compulsory Retirement, He Was Succeeded By Brig Gen Manuel c Roxas Who Was The Deputy Superintendent.
On September 1, 1990, He Was Re-Assigned At The Pc/Inp Headquarters At Camp Crame As Chief Directorial Staff For Inp Paving The Way For Chief Supt Oscar t Aquino. a Major Change In Command Was Affected And The District Headquarters Was Transferred To Amp Miguel z Ver Located Inside Rizal Provincial Capitol Compound On April 18, 1991.
Chief Supt Oscar t Aquino Was Replaced By Chief Supt Angel Quizon From September 11, 1992 To 25 April 1993. Chief Supt Celso g Francisco Took Over From 25th Of April 1993 To July 17, 1994. After The Stint Of Chief Supt Celso g Francisco, Came Chief Supt Hercules Cataluna From July 17, 1997 To 08 January 1996. Senior Supt Dionisio b Coloma Jr Assumed The Post From January 8, 1996. Towards The Middle Of 1996, a Revamp In The Pnp Brought Chief Supt Lucas m Managuelod To Assume The Top Post. It Was Gen .Managuelod Who Was Instrumental In The Construction Of The New Epd Headquarters Where We Right Now In Coordination With Then Mayor Vicente p Eusebio Of Pasig And Governor Casimiro “Ito” Ynares Of The Province Of Rizal. Mayor Eusebio Donated The Lot While Gov. Ynares Provided Financial Support In The Improvement/Construction Of The Roof Deck To Include The Renovation Of The Epd Annex Located Along Meralco Ave. Extension. Concomitantly, Mayor Vicente Eusebio Provided Financial Support For The Cementing The Epd Parking Area And Its Landscaping, These Two Building Were Inaugurated Last June 25, 1997 With No Less Than Sec. Robert z Barbers Of The Dilg As Guest Honor And Speaker.

The Man With a Very Powerful Voice Took Over, Chief Supt. George Alino From 3 April 2001 To 16 November 2001. Then Came Chief Supt. Rolando b Sacramento From 16 November 2001 To 2 November 2003.

On November 18, 2008 Police Chief Supt. Lino De Guzman Calingasan Took Over. On August 7, 2009 To 31 April 2010. Police Chief Supt. Benjardi h Mantele Took Over. Comes, April 2010 Up To March 11, 2012, Epd Was Adjudged As The Best District For Cy 2011 When Police Chief Supt. Francisco Soria Manalo Took Over The Office, Followed By Police Senior Supt. Mario o Soriano As Office-In-Charge From March 9, 2012 Up To March 29, 2012. And From Then On, Police Chief Supt. Miguel De Mayo Laurel, Took Over The Office, Where Epd Remained As The Best District For Cy 2012. Thru His Leadership, Various Innovations In Epd’s Operational Detail Was Made, Also The Birth Of The Epd’s Tactical Motorcycle Riders(Tmr) And Improvised Drum Boats Came To Exitence.
Leading To The c, Pnp’s Code-p, Epd Thru Pcsupt Laurel Had Now Turned Into a Modernized Structure That Comes With More Efficient And Quality Police Service That Works Hand In Hand To Every Police Officers Performing Their Sworn Duties And Their Best.
On March 12, 2014, Pcsupt Abelardo Pacis Villacorta, Took Over The Command Leadership That Lasted Up To August 18, 2015. a Pnpa Class 86 ‘’Tagapagtangol” , Was Appointed On August 18, 2015 To July 1, 2015 To Continue The Promising Performance Of Eastern Police District Was Given To Pcsupt Elmer Mejorada Jamias.
On July 1, 2016, Pcsupt Romulo e Sapitula Took Top-Post. He Created The Monicker For Eastern Police District As Team Pamamarisan Which Represents The Four Police Stations Of The Metroeast. And With The Assumption To Office By Pbgen Bernabe Balba In 2018, a New Motto Was Set In Stone. Since Then, Epd Became Guided By Its Banner As “The Role Model Of Excellence, Professionalism, And Discipline, And An Effective Partner To Serve And Protect The Community”.
For Almost Five Decades, It Stood Firm As The Vanguard Under Whose Protection An Area Measuring 69.7 Square Kilometers Blossomed Into The 4 Beautiful And Prosperous Cities They Are Today.
